The Role

The Graduate Technical Sales role is designed to support the business in meeting key objectives that underpin the success of our business.
This is a great opportunity for someone with an interest in technology and / or sales to learn, absorb and become well versed in all aspects of technical support and sales.
Primarily, we are looking for someone who is committed and passionate, gets things done on their own initiative, but with a good eye for detail; someone who will readily engage with the team and get stuck in to ensure we continue to deliver great service to our clients. Full product training will be provided and support from your colleagues in Product Management and Solutions so you will be able to identify the best solution to meet the needs of the client.

Tasks associated with this role will include:

  • Engage professionally with clients as the first port of call for any sales related queries received through a variety of channels including telephone and email
  • Utilise our CRM system and Sharepoint effectively to accurately record and monitor customer interactions, transactions, and issues
  • Prepare basic sales quotations in liaison with our Sales,Operations and Solutions teams
  • Maintain knowledge bases and helpdesk portals
  • First-line response to requests for technical assistance via phone, chat or email including logging support calls and all relevant information
  • Diagnose and resolve basic technical hardware and software issues at a product information level
  • Talk clients through a series of actions to resolve a problem or to collate information that can be passed on to 2nd and 3rd line technical support. Escalate
    issues to Head of Client Experience for resolution as required
  • Liaise with other internal teams involved with the sales cycle and attend meetings as required to ensure effective communications across the business
  • Support the wider business with a variety of administrative tasks such as desk based research, diary management, CRM maintenance, and preparation for in-house meetings and presentations

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Must have a strong passion for, and understanding of, technology (full product training will be provided)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills – confident, professional and diplomatic
  • Able to communicate technical features and benefits to non-technical users at all levels
  • A pragmatic, logical problem solver who is not afraid to seek assistance
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to empathise with customers whilst understanding the potential implications for our business
  • A team player who can also work on their own initiative

Highly Desirable

  • A background in Technical Sales, or Customer Support in a technology space
  • Previous work experience with the public sector
  • Previous product management/sales experience
  • Educated to degree level (business, marketing, engineering or technology related degree or equivalent professional qualification)
  • Broad knowledge of the ITS/Transport/Road Safety sector
  • Full UK driving licence

The post holder will be based at our Milton Keynes office. A clean driving licence is highly desirable, as there will be a requirement to travel to parts of the UK. Overnight stays away from home may also be necessary on occasions and overseas travel may be required from time to time to attend international exhibitions or visiting partners.
