Built on the adaptable Connex platform, Connex Vision is a powerful AI-driven video solution redefining traffic monitoring and empowering organisations to optimise transport networks with precision and efficiency.

Connex Vision delivers a high-precision, non-invasive solution for multi-modal traffic management. It accurately detects and reports on 22 road user classes with zero vehicles recorded as “Unknown.” From pedestrians and cyclists to cars, vans, buses, rigid and articulated lorries, motorhomes and specialist vehicles, all classes are fully reportable within Insight, giving authorities a clear, reliable view of road use to support safer, data-led transport decisions.

The object-by-object detection approach generates granular data on traffic flow, user behaviour, and potential safety risks. Its non-invasive design enables quick installation with minimal disruption, making it ideal for urban settings where traffic flow must remain uninterrupted.

Seamlessly integrating with Clearview’s Insight Data Management System or other platforms, the system provides a flexible, centralised solution for real-time traffic monitoring. Its adaptability to both new and existing infrastructure ensures streamlined upgrades without the need for major overhauls.

Connex Vision with Contact Closure

Real-time video streaming, event detection capabilities and the new contact closure feature further enhance the platform’s capabilities by enabling precise detection of events in zonal areas. For example:

Pedestrian Safety: The system can detect when a pedestrian crosses a road outside a designated crossing zone

Illegal Parking: It identifies vehicles parked on pavements or in restricted areas

Traffic Violations: Detects vehicles stopping in no-stopping zones or driving in restricted lanes

Congestion Management: Identifies bottlenecks or unusual traffic patterns

By combining object detection with real-time monitoring, the contact closure feature translates visual data into actionable outputs, such as alerts or system triggers. A second camera can be added to cover complex junctions or high-risk areas, while integration with Variable Message Signs (VMS) allows for real-time alerts to road users. This enhances infrastructure management, reduces risks, and supports safer, more intelligent transport systems.

Privacy is maintained through real-time blurring of sensitive information like faces and license plates, ensuring full GDPR compliance while still delivering actionable traffic insights.
