Clearview have teamed up with Hull and East Riding Advanced Motorists (HERAM) which, like all IAM groups is – a stand-alone local charity affiliated to IAMROADSMART.
This follows on from Clearview’s involvement in the £8m Stoneferry Corridor, Hull project – jointly funded with the Humber Local Enterprise Partnership and Hull City Council to improve road safety, reduce congestion and improve air quality for local residents.
If you a driver who lives in the HU1 to HU9 postcodes by answering a simple driving question, you could be one of five lucky winners of an IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driver Course, each worth £175.
The course involves pairing with one of HERAM’s highly skilled observers, themselves advanced drivers who hold an additional Institute of the Motor Industry qualification, to raise your driving skills to advanced level and help you get more out of your driving. When you are ready, your Observer will put you forward for the Advanced Test.
A spokesperson for HERAM said: ‘Our advanced driver course will give you additional on-road knowledge and skills above and beyond what is taught when you learn to drive. We want you to get more enjoyment out of driving, grow friendships and create memorable experiences.’
The Stoneferry Corridor is a primary route originating north of Hull, with strategic connections to the Port of Hull, and the city’s central and eastern areas. It is dominated by industry, HGV activity and businesses, with pockets of residential, retail, and educational buildings.
Further aims of the Project include sustaining economic growth and providing better facilities for pedestrians and cyclists with the goal of reducing congestion by 50%, cut down collisions by at least 40% and improve air quality for residents and businesses in the area within the next 15 years.
Now motorists who live in the area can benefit further by entering the competition which aims to improve driving skills, raise driving safety awareness and help reduce the number of road collisions.
